As we look to the future, and see recovery in sight, it is important that we begin to prepare now, for what in this writer’s opinion, will be an even stronger recovery than the past one. With that said, once our production facilities are back in full swing, our priorities will shift from that of “pure survival” back to measuring productivity, on time shipments, and profit margins. Back to reducing lead-time, eliminating mounds of paperwork, and in general improving efficiencies within the operation.

Guardian Software Systems introduced the “Paperless Routing and Touch Screen Data Collection Module” to eliminate the need to print the process instruction documents and meet the need to manufacture in a more environmentally responsible way.  The obvious benefit of going paperless is the reduction in paper use, which can be a significant cost savings as well as good for the environment, however Guardian’s “Paperless Routing and Touch Screen Data Collection Module” offers additional benefits one should consider.

Guardian has the ability to interface with a number of hardware devices that can be utilized to streamline and make your daily activities more efficient.  A few examples are the scale interface, which allows the system to calculate the number of pieces in a container based on the weight input from a floor scale.  The signature pad interface, which allows the system to capture electronically from a signature pad a truck driver’s signature, print on the BOL and store for future reference.  The Spectrometer interface, which allows the system to capture readings from the spectrometer and populate fields in Guardian’s certification module. And the MPI Injection Press interface, which allows the system to pass data back and forth between Guardian and the press - see the Guardian & MPI article under the site news section to the left. Please contact Guardian if you would like additional information on any of these features.
